SALVAGE WAREHOUSE
113 Berry Street Brooklyn NY

The Landmarks Preservation Commission̓s Warehouse is located under the Williamsburg Bridge. Landmarks Preservation Commission wanted to convert an old Sanitation Department truck repair garage into a facility to store building elements from demolished structures and sell them to the public under a federally sponsored program. Funding for the project was made available through the Department of Parks and Recreation.

The program called for a large storage area, the construction of a balcony to increase storage capability, a finish stripping area with a large dipping tank, a sales office and parking for trucks. As part of the project, all new heating, plumbing, electric and sprinkler systems were installed.
