HB Studio is a school created by theater artists for artists. HB Playwrights Foundation and Theatre, upholds a standard of performance – a standard envisioned by the founder, actor/director Herbert Berghof, and actor Uta Hagen.
A dilapidated four story row-house in the was combined with the existing three story Studio building. The extension provided classrooms, offices and support space. This was a gut rehab in the Greenwich Village Historic District
These two buidling have been partially renovated several times since the initial work in 1991
